A Leading Independent Energy Company

EnQuest plc is an independent energy company with a strong heritage in the UK North Sea and an expanding presence across Southeast Asia. Listed on the London Stock Exchange, the company specialises in operating and optimising mature, late-life oil and gas assets, using its technical expertise and operational capabilities to extend field lives, maximise production and support energy security. EnQuest also works to repurpose existing infrastructure where possible for renewable energy and decarbonisation projects.

Origin and History

EnQuest was established in 2010, with Amjad Bseisu playing a central role in its formation. The company was created around a strategy of acquiring and operating established oil and gas assets, particularly mature North Sea fields where specialist operational expertise could unlock additional value.

Over the years, EnQuest has built an extensive UK portfolio that includes major assets such as Magnus, Kraken and Golden Eagle. Its approach has combined acquisitions with focused investment in existing infrastructure, well programmes and production optimisation. This has enabled EnQuest to develop a reputation for managing mature assets and delivering operational improvements across their productive lifecycles.

The company's strategy has increasingly expanded beyond the UK. In 2025, EnQuest completed the acquisition of Harbour Energy's Vietnam business, strengthening its Southeast Asian portfolio. It has also expanded its regional presence through activities in Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.

Achievements and Operational Performance

EnQuest delivered 42,945 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) of reported production in 2025, compared with 40,736 boepd in 2024. Including pro-forma Vietnam volumes, production reached 45,606 boepd, exceeding the company's guidance range. Its operated portfolio achieved approximately 90% asset uptime, reflecting its emphasis on operational performance.

EnQuest has also received recognition for its technical capabilities. In 2025, the company won the Offshore Energies UK Excellence in Decommissioning Award, highlighting its work in responsible offshore decommissioning. In Malaysia, EnQuest became the first company to win the PETRONAS Emerald Award for Malaysia Operator of the Year in consecutive years, while also receiving recognition for Abandonment Excellence.
